Position:                     Process Engineer

Location:                    Abbeville, SC                         


Position Description:

Lead improvement in energy cable processes.  Provide continued support to manufacturing including production support, new product introduction, cost reduction initiatives and training, standards generation and monitoring.


Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of process improvements for high quality and high yields
  • Data analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Implement process control techniques and tools into production
  • Simplify processes to reduce human errors
  • Reduce setup times to maximize line utilization
  • Manage and deliver cost reduction projects
  • Support process definition, manufacture of qualification cables, and ramp-up of production capability of new products with high yields  
  • Project management including maintaining and executing project schedules and getting necessary support from Maintenance, Quality and Operations to complete projects
  • Contributing technical problem solving as needed for the support of general production
  • Work closely with process technicians in  production support and project completion
  • Training of operators as well as process technicians in best practices
  • 90% of the job is on the is on the production floor



  • Bachelor of Science
  • Preferred: BS in Engineering,


  • Required: Minimum 3 years manufacturing and/or 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Extrusion and/or Metallurgy experience is a plus.
  • Must be very hands on, can be effective autonomously and in a team. Long hours, production support
  • Thinks outside the box, creative. Drives results no matter the obstacles. Comfortable working in low resourced environment. Able to work long hours in production support.
  • Preferred experience in the wire and cable manufacturing industry.
  • Successful implementation of capital investments and machine installation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial machinery and automation systems.
