Team Overview and Job Responsibilities


In your new role you will be reporting directly to the Director of Energy Cables Design Engineering and will be integral to the continued success as well as the future growth of our customers.  Your role will interact with the business and customers in order to understand and solve their unique requirements and how these apply to our production capabilities.


  • Lead a Design Engineering team (4+ personnel), working with the commercial business to ensure our ability to produce products that meet the industry and customer requirements/specifications.
  • Work with production facilities, logistics, procurement on daily basis to ensure all information is available an up to date
  • Lead the team in clear understanding of cost of product and impact of changes in the cost of the products for use in quotations and orders.
  • Responsible for creating the BOM and routing necessary to produce the products in the NA facilities (virtual shop floor) using the qualified and certified materials and product design.
  • Work with New Product Development teams to translate new products into the language of the production floor. 
  • Contribute and assist in the Design to Cost (DTC) program by providing ideas for cost reduction based on exposure to customer requirements as well as assist tracking projects at the plants when necessary  
  • Participate where necessary in industry standards activities and regulatory bodies such as UL, CSA, IEEE and NEMA.
  • Maintain the tools used in the department for calculations, simulations, etc. (Cable Builder, Common Analisi, HFA, SAP, excel calculation tools)





Who are we looking for?


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering in a related field. 
  • 5 or more years of Design, Process, or other related work. 
  • 5 or more years of industrial experience.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Managerial experience.
  • 2 or more years of design, product engineering and manufacturing in wire and cable products preferred.
  • Foreign languages are a plus.


Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • Works out of a normal office environment with standard office equipment available. 
  • Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.  
  • Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 10-30 pounds as needed. 
  • Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis. 
  • This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions, except excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries 
  • When travel is necessary, will be exposed to typical travel environment and surroundings.
