Team Overview and Job responsibilities

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will be based in the Quality Department of the HQ in Milan. The Quality engineer is responsible for:

    • Implement Group Quality strategy.
    • Analyzing Customer claims and, for those of relevant importance (high economical and/or reputational impact), collecting information and giving support to the involved affiliates.
    • Analyzing internal nonconformities data and supporting implementation and monitoring of related Quality Continuous Improvement projects.
    • Planning and carrying out Production Process Audits triggered by poor quality KPIs performances, specific issues or new processes validations in the whole Group perimeter (Energy & Telecom).
    • Supporting and following up the affiliates during the implementation of the recovery plan defined during the Audit.
    • Supporting affiliates in the resolution of quality issues (internal or external).
    • Participating and, in specific cases, leading dedicated Quality projects in both HQ and affiliates.

 

The Quality Engineer may be also required to make technical presentations and summaries about the activities.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

We are looking for a Quality engineer with the following key requirements

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Operation (Quality, Manufacturing), preferably in the cable industry, with basic managerial experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical related field.
    • Knowledge of quality management system international standards: ISO9001 mandatory, additional standards desirable (e.g. IATF 16949).
    • Good knowledge and experience in the basic quality tools for analysis and problem solving (e.g. Pareto charts, Cause and effect diagrams, Fishbone diagrams, 5why’s, etc.).
    • Basic knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
    • Good communication, negotiation and team working skills. Ability to understand the context of the work environment and react with flexibility to the needs of the actual situation.  
    • Ability to identify potential problems, either technical or procedural, propose solutions and involve other colleagues in developing these solutions when necessary.
    • Good use of MS Office and Excel for data analysis (e.g. Pivot tables)
    • Basic Knowledge of SAP desirable.
    • Accuracy and proactiveness.
    • Fluent in English, second and third language desirable.
    • Good planning, time and risk management skills
    • Management of inter-departmental and multicultural relations.
    • Listening and strong work ethic.
    • Previous experience in the manufacturing, preferably in Energy and/or Telecom cables industry.
    • ISO 9001 lead auditor certification preferred.
    • Experience in Six Sigma application projects or Continuous Improvement activities preferred.
