Prysmian Group is seeking a people-oriented and change management champion to support our business. In your new role you will be reporting directly to the lab Product Development Manager and will be integral to the continued success as well as the future growth of with our customers.  Your role will interact with the business and customers in order to understand and solve their unique requirements for their business segments.  You will be responsible for start-to-finish product development, requirement gathering, product improvement, and support new product introduction into segments of the business.  


Position Overview


Reporting to the CFO, as the Plant Controller you take responsibility for the financial accounting and reporting of a multi-million dollar production plant (see operations budget) and ensure consistency in the accounting, reporting, timeliness, accuracy and costing methodology with corporate standards. As the Plant Controller directly supervises (see current org chart for facility or list titles of subordinates)2-3 accounting positions. The Plant Controller is responsible for accurately recording and preparing the operational financial transactions and reports for the plant facility.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


· Maintains accurate records of all assets, liabilities and plant transactions in accordance with procedures and direction from the corporate controller’s office

· Prepares and maintains cost standards for all products produced

· Measures productivity savings

· Forecasts manufacturing variances

· Manages and coordinates the preparation of departmental and plant-wide budgets, forecasts, and operating reports

· Coordinates the preparation of the annual Capital Budget and related financial justification, expenditure control, and objective analysis

· Adopts Corporate Accounting policies, practices and instructions for the plant accounting needs and control, complying with corporate practices

· Ensures that all reports, accounting data and monthly closings are completed to meet Operations and Corporate due dates

· Takes joint responsibility with the Plant Manager for the planning, taking, controlling and reporting physical inventory counts

· Prepares financial justifications for capital requests

· Works with the Team Leader in meeting all corporate reporting requirements.

· Plays a key role in assisting Plant Management in driving productivity savings to budgeted commitments

· Assists with internal/external audits

· Hires, trains and supervises accounting personnel

· Performs other related duties as required

· Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, with a CPA designation, MBA preferred

· 7-10 years manufacturing experience in general and/or cost accounting

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

· Works out of a normal office environment with standard office equipment available.

· Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.

· Employee will regularly be required to lift and carry objects of 10-25 pounds as needed.

· Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 25-30 pounds as needed.

· Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis.

· This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions, except excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries
