Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Product Development team looking after Low Voltage and Medium Voltage cables for the Italian affiliate, based in Pignataro Maggiore (CE), within South Europe Region organization. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • To understand customer needs on the product performance/application, with inputs coming from both direct contacts and information collected by the commercial team;
  • To identify technical solutions to the identified market opportunity or technical problem;
  • To cooperate with Engineering/Design and Material team in defining the cable prototype to be produced, through the definition of the full testing protocol, to match the defined performance targets;
  • To manage the product development activity with project management approach, leading it and coordinating Operations, R&D and other organizations for the execution of projects and activities;
  • To verify or validate the conformity of product regarding standards requirements and/or customer’s specifications;
  • To respect scheduled time and cost, delivering to Engineering the final cable design and test reports;
  • To drive activity of Design to Cost, aimed at variable product cost reduction;
  • To provide technical support to internal and external customers and to support Quality Department in identifying technical solutions to given issues and corrective actions;
  • Technical risk assessment of design change management;
  • To coordinate and manage suppliers together with Procurement Organization
  • Travel requirement 50%


Who are we looking for?

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering; preferably Chemical, Material, Electric or Mechanic Engineering background
  • At least 3 years of experience in the chemical-mechanical industry, preferably with former experience in polymers transformation/extrusion process. Former activity in cable industry is considered a plus;
  • Knowledge of Materials (metallurgy, compounds, thermal ratings) and Technology (Machinery and manufacturing process, with specific interest in plastic materials manufacturing);
  • Willingness to travel when needed mainly to Giovinazzo Plant (BA);
  • English and Italian language fluency both written and spoken;
  • French or Spanish fluency will be considered a plus.
