Overview:

Exciting growth opportunity at a plant of a major international company. Responsibility for all the financial stewardship at one of the company’s most significant plants in the USA. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all plant accounting, financial planning and analysis ensuring compliance to local/Corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating the plants monthly accounting closing process.
  • Analyze plant spending to validate expenditures are accurate and complete. Compile and analyze financial information to support accounting accruals and other required journal entries to accurately state operating expenses in support of month end close
  • Participate regularly in plant meetings with the Plant Manager to discuss production and costing issues. Review labor, material usage, manufacturing overhead, downtime and other operating/financial KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with plant procurement and operations teams to assure the purchase order procedures are followed.
  • Analyze and accurately report monthly financial results, investigate variances, develop tools and reports to understand operational gaps and provide timely and insightful feedback to plant/ NA Regional leadership team.
  • Provide timely reporting and analysis on plant operations including daily, weekly and monthly updates on plant performance, KPI’s capital projects and cost saving initiatives.
  • Review and validate daily production reporting including labor distribution and material issues.
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain perpetual inventory to physical inventory adjustments. Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of product costing including bill of material, yield/scrap factors, crewing, and process/throughput verification.
  • Development of labor and overhead rates for the periodic updating of standard costs.
  • Product cost modeling for new products and formulation, process and equipment changes. Post change/launch validation of assumptions and financial impact.
  • Prepare ad-hoc accounting analyses as required. Responsible for all plant and general accounting, including inter-company transactions, FIFO Inventory accounting.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly financial statements to accurately reflect sales, margins and expenses to measure performance versus plans and objectives.
  • Measuring and reporting on efficiencies and guiding the local management to maximize the performance of the plant.
  • Coordination of all financial aspects of the plant and helping to share best practice across the Prysmian group.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

SAP knowledge a plus

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum - Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in manufacturing plant accounting.
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in the accounting profession with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage systems, processes, and people in a complex organizational structure.
  • Previous experience as a plant controller role is a must.
  • Current GAAP requirements knowledge and experience are musts.
  • Systems experience in SAP is a plus. High level of Proficiency on MS Excel and PowerPoint financial reporting and planning tools is highly desirable.
  • Finance partner mindset to be able collaborate and communicate effectively with BU Controller, Plant leadership and cross-functional teams

 

Working Conditions: Occasional travel may be required.
