This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.  The Willimantic, CT facility produces specialty wire and cable for the industrial, military, marine and transit markets.  As the facility continues to aggressively increase in productivity and lower its manufacturing costs, there is a need to recruit a Production Supervisor to ensure optimum utilization of manpower and materials.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the direction of assigned production resources to ensure optimum manufacturing performance with regard to minimizing cost and achieving the highest possible levels of quality and delivery in accordance with the approved business plan. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the managing of hourly direct labor associates in the assigned manufacturing areas and shift.  This position is also responsible for effectively managing cross-functional relationships with other departments to support effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment, as well as productivity improvement initiatives.

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a team based manufacturing environment
  • Strong MS Office and MRP systems background
  • Previous experience supervising people
  • AS degree - BS degree in manufacturing or engineering or related discipline is preferred, with a strong foundation in business administration.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Will be required to stand, walk, and bend frequently.  
  • Occasionally lifting and or carrying objects of 10-40 pounds as needed 
  • Occasionally required to push and pull reels.


  • Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis
